Prince Halter Entry - Dark Night Show

“Since when did you get so chubby?” Kamille snickered at the champagne colt as he was pulled out of the trailer. “What happened to you over the summer?” she asked rhetorically as she led him away and toward the arena for his halter class. She knew exactly what had happened. The horses were left practically untouched over the summer, save for the times when they were practicing for upcoming shows. This was Prince’s first show, and she hoped he wouldn’t act up as much as he did otherwise. The other Thoyases at the stable had been successful in the show ring so far and Kamille wished for another victory. But nothing was ever easy, she thought as she was tugged backward when Prince stopped to look at something across the way. He stood fast, staring off at what was probably a mare in the distance. “Nice try, how about no.” Kamille remarked sarcastically, tugging at the lead. “Now come on, you…” With a snort he looked back at her and started walking again.

They reached the arena in no time and had a short wait until they were called in. He pranced alongside her, tail held high, neck arched and came to a graceful halt, standing proud as the judges looked him over. “Thank god he’s behaving….” Kamille whispered. Just then, the unusually quiet colt swiveled his ears around, back up a few steps, pulling on the lead, and looked wide-eyed around the arena. “Ah geez” Kamille muttered as they were released from the judges. She tugged on the lead hard and jogged Prince out of the arena before he could start anything.

Seriously loving this entry ^^ It's been a long time since I've drawn Prince so I figured it was his turn for a show. This came out pretty good, if not better than the sketch(which I did in my anatomy lecture notes, actually). I've been bored in class, but stressed outside of class. I've been holding off on doing the entries because I seriously didn't feel like doing them. With the show only a few days away, I figured it was time to buck up and draw. To pretty good results ^^
